How our Mobile Crisis Agencies can help

Who will respond to your emergency?

When you face an emergency, the support you receive comes from within your own community, ensuring familiarity, empathy, and a deep understanding of local resources. Each region in Vermont is served by its respective local Community Mental Health Agency, staffed by professionals who are not just responders but also neighbors, familiar with the unique challenges and strengths of your area.

Our responders are not volunteers. They are employed by the Community Mental Health Agency within your region. The two-person response team includes at least one trained Clinician, ensuring professional mental health support. Accompanying them is another Community Mental Health Agency staff member, possibly a clinician, case manager, or in future, increasingly, peer support services staff with lived experience of mental health and substance use issues. This model of care, with all responders being trained agency staff, emphasizes local expertise, continuity, and community connection.
